In this youtube video Adoni MLA Dr. Parthasarathi, outlines AP government initiative designed to improve and develop funeral and burial grounds across Andhra Pradesh villages and mandalsusing available resources. This project is very ambitious and has been launched after the coalition government was formed. It not only aims at improving the burials grounds but also seeks to provide employment through the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), which is a very large and long-running government project that already provides rural workers with financial assistance. This project eradicates the long-standing need for proper facilities in rural areas.
Key Features of the Initiative:
- Substantial Funding: The scheme allocates up to 20 lakhs per site, providing crucial financial support for comprehensive development.
- Essential Infrastructure: This funding covers the construction of vital infrastructure, including boundary walls, main gates, platforms for performing rites, sheds, and water installations, ensuring dignified and functional spaces.
- Protection Against Encroachment: A critical benefit of this expansion is the safeguarding of land from illegal encroachment, preserving these sacred spaces for their intended purpose.
- Inclusive Facilities: The initiative ensures that facilities can be established for specific castes or religious groups, including Hindus, Christians, and Muslims, promoting inclusivity and respecting diverse community needs.
- Streamlined Implementation: The government is committed to efficient execution by promising direct bill payments to contractors or community associations, with necessary labour provided via government master rolls, ensuring timely and accountable progress.
This initiative marks a monumental step towards providing respectful and well-maintained final resting places for all citizens of Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the government’s commitment to social welfare and dignified community services.
