Heavy rains have once again exposed the critical condition of Adoni’s old bridge. The structure, decades old and visibly deteriorating, poses a serious risk to daily commuters and residents. Even a small rainfall turns roads into streams, flooding colonies and damaging homes.
Despite emergency repairs being done, the bridge urgently needs complete reconstruction. A proposal worth ₹86 crores is being prepared to demolish the existing bridge and build a new one. This will only be possible after the new bypass road is completed, expected by Sankranti.
Until then, immediate repair work is being carried out to prevent accidents during the monsoon. Municipal teams are actively responding to complaints, cleaning drains, and helping affected families with essentials and shelter.
