The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is helping families across India fulfill their dream of owning a home. If you already have land in a town or city, the government is offering ₹2,50,000 to help you build your house. The amount is given in stages—₹60,000 for the foundation, ₹60,000 for the roof, ₹60,000 for the slab, and ₹70,000 for the final finishing work.
For those living in villages, the government provides ₹1,59,000 under the same scheme. This includes funds for construction, sanitation, and additional support through the food-for-work program. Even if you have already started building your house, you can still apply and receive the remaining funds.
Many people worry about not having land to build on. To help them, the government plans to give small plots—about three cents in rural areas and two cents in towns. Applications can be submitted at your nearest local office or Sachivalayam, where eligible families will be given land pattas as soon as possible.
