Early on October 24, 2025, a private Volvo bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bangalore met with a tragic accident near Chinnatekur village in Kurnool district. According to reports, the bus collided with a two-wheeler, which caused the vehicle to catch fire.
At least 20 people lost their lives, including children, while 12 passengers managed to escape by breaking windows. Many passengers were reportedly asleep at the time of the accident, which made evacuation difficult. Emergency teams rushed to the scene, and a special investigation squad has been deployed to determine the cause of the crash.
The government is actively providing medical aid and compensation to the victims’ families. Local authorities are urging travelers to exercise extra caution on highways, especially during late-night journeys.
