The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has launched the Kapas Kisan app to simplify cotton procurement under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. The app allows farmers to register, book slots, and track payments digitally.
From October 2025, registration on the app is mandatory for selling cotton at MSP. The government extended the registration deadline to October 31, 2025 to help farmers who face challenges.
Many farmers struggle with digital access, internet connectivity, and documentation requirements, especially in rural areas. This has caused some delays in cotton procurement, forcing a few farmers to sell below MSP.
The government is running awareness campaigns and promoting digital inclusion to make the app more accessible. Feedback mechanisms are also being considered to improve the app’s functionality.
