In a significant move to boost regional infrastructure, our local representative recently met with the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, in Delhi. The meeting focused on submitting concrete proposals for the development of crucial roads in and around the Adoni and Kurnool areas.
The key proposals submitted include:
- Upgrading to National Highways: A formal request was made to declare the 102 km Kurnool-Ballari road and the 71 km Gutti-Pathikonda-Adoni road as National Highways. This reclassification would fast-track their development and funding from the central government. The plan for the Kurnool-Ballari road involves expanding it into a modern four-lane highway.
- Targeted Funding: A separate representation sought specific funds for other vital corridors, including ₹60 crore for the Guntakal-Tungabhadra road and ₹42 crore for widening the Gutti-Pathikonda road.
The Union Minister responded positively, assuring that he would examine the proposals. Our representative expressed confidence that developing these highways is essential for the economic growth of Kurnool district and remains committed to diligently following up on these vital projects.
