Good news for the people of Adoni! With heavy rains and the Tungabhadra dam reaching full capacity, water has been released into the Lower Tungabhadra Canal. This ensures a steady supply of both drinking and irrigation water for the region.
Water is now being directed to the Basapuram Summer Storage Tank, which will help meet the town’s drinking water needs. Minor repairs are being planned to improve storage and filtration capacity, and there’s also a proposal for permanent repairs estimated at ₹60 crores for long-term needs.
Citizens need not worry — regular water supply is being planned, with intervals being reduced as per availability. The municipality is working on ensuring clean and sufficient drinking water for the coming 7–8 months.
